The Beach Palace Resort, located in the hotel zone of Cancun, is an all-inclusive resort stationed right on the beach. My family and I stayed here for a five-day spring break getaway last month.

We were greeted upon entry into the hotel and were given cool, damp towels. Ladies were each given a single flower. The employees at the registration desk were very welcoming and helpful, and check-in was quick.

As Beach Palace Resort is all-inclusive, we were given wristbands to wear (adults having a different color than children). We were instructed that if we were to lose our wristbands, we would have to pay $102 per day of our stay! Obviously, this is because the wristband allows us access all over the hotel, but it still made me nervous that one of us would lose it. (Fortunately, we didn’t!) Our luggage was taken up to our room by a bellman, who instructed us about the features of our room, including ordering room service through the tv.

The Room

Our room was spacious and clean, with two double beds and a very large whirlpool tub in the center of the room. The beds were approximately a full or double size; they were not queen sized (A queen sized bed would have resulted in a better night’s sleep for us.). There was also a dresser with a decent amount of counter space, a stocked refrigerator, a wet bar with 4 kinds of spirits, and a bottle of wine was left on a table with chairs. The refrigerator and wet bar were all free (since it’s all-inclusive) and we were instructed to call down to room service if we needed more refills of anything. Room service is available here 24 hours a day.

The closet held a safe, 2 robes, 2 pairs of slippers, an ironing board, iron, shelves, and a blow dryer. Two sinks were positioned behind the whirlpool tub, and a door separated the toilet and shower area. A room key is needed to turn on the master switch for all the lights.

Our room had a balcony that faced the gorgeous aquamarine Caribbean Sea. The balcony had a small table, 2 chairs, and an outdoor futon. The hotel also has pools and hot tubs, a spa, a weight room on the roof, a gift shop, bars, restaurants, and a kids’ club. Wifi is free and was fast and reliable.

All Palace Resorts offer resort credits based on how long you stay. For a 5-6 night stay, we received $1500 in credits. However, not included is a 16% service fee. I will explain more about how to book your activities and what we did in my next post. My next post will also cover all dining, pools, and the beach at Beach Palace Resort.

The only couple of complaints I had were minimal. This hotel, like most, doesn’t change sheets everyday, but every third day. They had a small placard with small print by the whirlpool that was to be put on the bed if you wanted your sheets changed. It wasn’t very noticeable and I wish I had seen it sooner than I did.  Also, I noticed we had a dirty bathrobe lying on the closet floor that wasn’t replaced by a new one. Additional hooks and towel bars would have been nice to dry towels and bathing suits. Other than that, I had no other complaints.

Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. Their employees were exceptional in service. It definitely seemed to be a more family friendly resort than I was expecting (a good thing!). I think I only encountered two groups of college students while we stayed here. Family is definitely the focus at this resort. All in all, I was very pleased staying here: the employees were friendly; the elevators were fast (there were four of them for the 12 floors); the rooms were spacious and clean; and most employees were proficient in English. I highly recommend Beach Palace for guests seeking a tropical getaway focused on relaxation and fun!

Stay tuned for my next post on the rest of the hotel.

Happy Travels!

Julie
