NFL RedZone

I am not a fan of fall (only for the fact that winter is near), but I am definitely a fan of football.  I wasn’t always, but after years of tuning it out, I finally got it – I understood the love of football.

After a year or two of only watching locally aired games (and missing the majority of games), my husband and I discovered the NFL Network’s channel, RedZone. RedZone is an HD cable channel that only airs on Sundays during the football season.  They take you live from game to game, and show you the game that is currently in the red zone (within twenty yards of the goal).  That way, fans see the most exciting plays and they also get to see every touchdown from Sunday’s game during the “touchdown montage” that ends the broadcast.  Scott Hanson hosts the coverage and does amazingly well, considering the “whip around” coverage that he has to report on.  His excitement and big smile always start my Sunday afternoons the right way.  It’s “seven hours of non-stop commercial free football!” How perfect is that? Hearing Scott’s voice automatically triggers a smile and an eagerness to watch football.  Even my teenage and preteen daughter join in on the football fun – a weekly family event.  RedZone changed our Sundays for the better!

So as we anxiously await the start of the football season, if you are still watching football on the major networks or worse, in standard definition, do yourself a favor and take a look into the NFL Network’s RedZone.  It took a few minutes to get used to the fast pace of the network, but now I will never go back.

Until then, I’ll be anxiously waiting for Sunday, Scott, and my favorite teams to take the field after a long absence.  It’s been a long nine months without RedZone.

I’m ready.

Happy Football Season!

The ONLY deal you ever get from Comcast that doesn’t make you feel taken advantage of. $4.99/month.
